A maison built around one note at a time
Scent Lux Aromas began in a one-room atelier in Lisbon, when our founder — a former hotelier — could no longer find diffusion equipment that did justice to the oils she had spent ten years sourcing. So she built the diffusers herself, and bottled the oils to match.
Principles
Four rules the Maison still keeps
Single-note only
Every oil is one ingredient. We do not blend, stretch, or harmonize. If you smell vetiver in the bottle, it is vetiver in the bottle.
Hand-finished vessels
Every bottle is mouth-blown in Murano or pressed in Stoke-on-Trent. The diffuser bodies are turned by hand in Porto.
Slow distillation
We work with three pressing houses. None of them are owned by us, and none of them have ever been asked to work faster.
Quiet diffusion
Our electronic units are tested against a 22 dB ceiling. If you can hear it, we have not finished engineering it.

Behind the Maison
We are a team of fourteen, working out of Lisbon, Porto, and Haute-Provence. We answer our own emails.
